Now we have a try with this new chrome web extension to download a youtube video.

1.Open http://www.youtube.com and select a youtube video.
To download this youtube video:

2.Now you will find the extension icon has changed. A green icon means you could download a video now.

 

3.Click the icon. It notices that “Google/YouTube does not allow to download videos directly from YouTube”. And Please add the video to your video list first.

4.Click “add video to video list”. And it will note that video has been added.

5.Click “Show video list”

 

6.Click on the Youtube  video. Go to the youtube video page(not in youtube.com).

 

7.Click the extension icon and download a youtube video.(you could select high quality, and choose mp4 or flv to download.)

Note:you could find in green download button “Download 0 MB”, this means that you need to watch the video in youtube. And the video you selected was restricted from playback on centain sites.

So what’s a pity.  Now i change a video to download, and step by step to add this video in video list.  Yeah, this could be downloaded.
